My name is Alex Vought, and I am a junior at the University of Colorado at Boulder. I am a strategic communications major pursuing the media design track with a minor in communications.
I have always loved art ever since I was young, art is incorporated into almost all parts of my life in one way or another. In high school, I loved ceramics and creating all types of three-dimensional art. Currently, I have picked up the side hobby of tufting, better known as rug making, to keep up my love for creating functional art pieces. Although I have been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember I am still trying to find my own personal style. I create pieces anywhere from abstract to realistic, I thoroughly enjoy creating things on both ends of the spectrum, it just depends on what mood I'm in and what media I am working with.
I am really looking forward to this class because I have always been interested in learning digital art, but it always seemed too overwhelming to try to learn on my own. I have played around with photoshop a bit, but all of the different digital art programs and ways to create with them seemed very daunting to me, especially with how different it is from other forms of physical art. I am hoping that this class will help me not only in my future career but also in my own personal future art projects
